Working on an better world, one race, one goal!

2023

This will be our biggest project yet. Orphanage Joyfull house

Joyfull house had undergo some major renovations recently. The exterior wall has been closed off with new windows and doors. The leaky roof has been fixed, and the electrical system has been updated. These changes have made Joyfull House a more comfortable and secure place. Small steps will get us there.

We had the pleasure of taking the orphans to a shopping mall to buy them new shoes. Upon arriving at the shoe store there was a lot of excitement and the kids faces lit up by seeing all the colourful shoes and choices they had.
Ones finished at the shoe store, we went to a nearby fast food restaurant for lunch, again a lot of excitement amongst the kids as they don’t get to eat out very often. Buying shoes and eating fast food may seem normal to us but for these kids it was nothing short of an adventure.
It is important to realise that these activities, like riding a bus, going to the mall and eating out every now and then mean the world to these kids and it can make a different in their lives.

Another great project by M&A International!
During our projects, we always give back to the local community, and this was our biggest charity event yet.
Special thanks goes to our good friends Tri and Nova, who helped us during this project.
And of course, the biggest hero of them all, the ‘Mama’ of Panti Asuhan At Taqwa, day in and day out taking care of the children with her team. Lets hope we can do many more projects for them.

2022

Another project at At Taqwa, one of our long-time charities that we have been sponsoring during our absence from the island due to the Covid pandemic.

The central area of the orphanage had some leaks, and a quick investigation showed that the problem was in the balcony that was partly overlapping the first-floor central area. After finding a local contractor and negotiating the price, we started by completely removing the tiles and cover floor. After leveling, waterproofing, new tiles and some general touch-up, things where as good as new. Another job well done, and happy faces all over.

2022

Back in Indonesia at last, you can clearly see the damage the pandemic has done, and there is a lot of help needed. We are still supporting our families and orphanages here and are on the lookout for projects we can support. An update on the startup we supported last year; it worked out great, and to our surprise, the owner gave us back all we donated for his business. You should have seen the look on his face, he was so proud to give back, and off course we were too. This money will be a great start for another project.

2021

Although we are working in Holland due to the pandemic we still support some families and orphanages in Indonesia. In Addition, we have supported a local Indonesian start-up and are guiding them towards a successful entrepreneurship.

In our home country we support a less fortunate family with daily necessities and clothing for their kids. Although the general perception is that there is no poverty in Holland we can assure you that it exists

2019/2020

While my husband has the opportunity to work on a great project in Batam Indonesia, coordinating the build of two Splitbarges as a sitemanager, I am shaping our company M&A International, to continue our ambition of coordination international technical projects around the world. One of our core values is to always search for a way to give something back to the local community. On this project, I am doing that by giving English lessons and supporting two local orphanages At-Taqwa and Elshaddai Abigail, in several ways. One of the many problems the orphanage At-Taqwa had was a simple storage place as you can see in the before pictures, there was a lot of room for improvement.

This is the part were my husband can assist me, and pretty soon we found a party willing to fabricate some custom furniture for a sponsored price. Also, one of our connections decided to take half of the costs, so we were in business. As you can see in the after pictures, the result is there, all Marine quality, so these will last for 20 years. We made several cabinets on both floors of the living quarters

The other orphanage, Elshaddai Abigail, has even bigger problems, they don’t even have beds for the kids. When it is time to go to bed, the mattresses are taken from a pile and placed on the floor in the main room.

Off course, we know there is a limit to what we can do, but seeing the gratitude of the people at the orphanages and the difference we can make here with limited recourses, we would like to do another small project. For that reason, I would like you all (my network, friends and (ex-)colleagues) to consider helping us in any way you can. Please do not hesitate to contact me or my husband if you have any possibility’s to do so. All help is welcome.
